23rd – 30th November 2018
Houffalize & Brussels, Belgium
Training Course
“Globally connected, locally engaged” was a Training course developed and organized by CODEC. The training course helded in 23 of November till 2 of December 2018 and it took place in Houffazile & Brussels, Belgium. 20 participants from different countries like Spain, Portugal, Latvia, Turkey, Belgium,Italy,Nepal, Croatia and Cyprus lived and worked together under amusing and productive circumstances.
The project focused on activities which provided us awareness regarding how to work with youth and kids. We choose workshops we wanted to provide for others with a small group of people and then we prepare to show this workshops to the rest of the team. We had workshops about balloon making, face painting, origami, dance for kids/teenages/adults, theatre, acrobatics, circus, bracelet making, acrylic drawing, puppets making, recycling. We worked hard and we had so much fun working and preparing this workshops. After all are all proud to make this happen and to learn so many things in just 10 days.
We were living in a big farm house in a tiny village. That is why we spent more time together and we made strong friendships. Everyday a different country had to cook and clean. So we had the chance to cook cypriot food and to taste different cuisine. Also we had culture night after dinner and their we played and learned about other cultures!
We get to know a little more the Belgian way of life and we had the chance to see amazing places. In the last two days of the project we went to Brussels. There we split in three teams and we went to different places to show and use what we learned One of the teams went to a Spaghetti festival and needed to entertain and play with the children there. What we did was prepare some activities before hand and perform these activities at the festival. An amazing idea that came up was to create small certificates for the children that attended all the activities. This motivated the children to try everything and have fun while enjoying all the activities. At the end we got a really good feedback from the organisers and we enjoyed the festival.
Also in Brussels we had the chance to see the city and it was Christmas time! That was amazing and the best time to visit a country! Chocolate shops were everywhere and Christmas markets offers us a unique experience!
We would like to thank PlanBe for the opportunity that gave us for this amazing experience! We are lucky to participate in project like this. Because we came back with much more knowledge that we can use in our life.
