Strengthening Youth Workers through First Aid

Strengthening Youth Workers through First Aid

On the bright morning of November 3, 2023, our NGO’s office premises in Kokkinotrimithia, witnessed a remarkable event – the First Aid Seminar for Youth Workers. Facilitated by the esteemed St. John Association Cyprus and funded by the Youth Initiatives of the Youth Board of Cyprus, this seminar left an indelible mark on the 13 dedicated youth workers who attended.

In collaboration with the St John Association Cyprus, renowned for its life-saving expertise and global recognition across 42 countries, the seminar delivered not only essential life-saving skills but also a profound sense of empowerment. It was a day of learning and personal growth, where the participants received valuable information that promises to shape their professional lives and enhance their personal well-being.

The seminar was more than just an educational event; it was an opportunity for youth workers to become certified first aiders, a certification that will remain valid for three years. This empowering skill set equips them to respond effectively in emergencies and fosters a heightened sense of personal confidence.

The day was filled with engaging activities, including hands-on training, practical demonstrations, and insightful discussions led by expert trainers from St John Association Cyprus. The participants actively embraced the program, fully immersing themselves in the learning experience.

The seminar also provided a platform for networking and building connections within the youth work community. The potential for future collaborations and initiatives emerged, offering a promising prospect for further enhancing the well-being of young people in Cyprus.

As the day concluded, it was evident that the First Aid Seminar had not only equipped youth workers with life-saving knowledge but had also inspired them to make a real impact in their communities. They left the seminar with more than certificates; they left with the determination to be heroes in their respective domains.

The success of this seminar was a testament to the power of education, especially when combined with the commitment of organizations like St John’s Association Cyprus and the support of the Youth Initiatives of the Youth Board of Cyprus. It demonstrated how collective efforts could lead to the personal and professional empowerment of youth workers, thereby strengthening our community.

We look forward to more such events that empower our youth workers, contributing to the betterment of society as a whole. Stay tuned for updates and join us on this journey of education and growth in the youth work sector in Cyprus!
