The Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Youth for Sustainable Communities” successfully brought together young people from different European countries to explore sustainability, wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, and intercultural understanding through nature-based learning and outdoor experiences. Through non-formal education and experiential learning, participants developed a deeper awareness of how everyday choices and collective actions can contribute to creating more sustainable and inclusive communities.
The exchange was based on interactive workshops, group discussions, outdoor activities, reflection sessions, and intercultural experiences that encouraged participants to reconnect with nature, share perspectives, and explore more conscious ways of living. By working together in an international environment, participants strengthened their creativity, teamwork, emotional awareness, and sense of responsibility, highlighting that small individual actions can lead to meaningful positive change within local communities.
Feedback from the Cypriot Team:
During the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange programme in La Zarza de Pumareda, Spain, from 13 to 18 July, we felt deep satisfaction and gratitude for everything we experienced together. We visited several places near the Portuguese border and even spent time by the river that forms part of the border between Spain and Portugal. We also had the opportunity to experience life in a small Spanish village and interact with the local community, gaining a deeper appreciation of the local culture and way of life.
We participated alongside young people from six countries—Cyprus, Greece, Poland, Italy, France, and Spain—creating a truly multicultural environment. The Cypriot team consisted of five participants, all of whom met for the very first time during this project. Despite this, we quickly bonded, building strong friendships and a sense of trust, not only within our own team but also with participants from the other countries.
Through interactive workshops, collaborative activities, and hands-on sessions focused on sustainability, we explored everyday practices that have an impact on our lives and discussed how they could be improved, one step at a time. This youth exchange encouraged us to adopt a more positive, sustainable, and creative mindset while promoting experimentation, critical thinking, and teamwork.
This Erasmus+ experience in La Zarza de Pumareda was truly unforgettable—filled with meaningful connections, creativity, and friendships that we will carry with us for a long time.
Κατά τη διάρκεια του προγράμματος Erasmus+ Youth Exchange στη La Zarza de Pumareda της Ισπανίας, από τις 13 έως τις 18 Ιουλίου, νιώσαμε βαθιά ικανοποίηση και ευγνωμοσύνη για όλα όσα ζήσαμε μαζί. Επισκεφθήκαμε διάφορα μέρη κοντά στα σύνορα με την Πορτογαλία και βρεθήκαμε ακόμη και στον ποταμό που αποτελεί φυσικό σύνορο μεταξύ της Ισπανίας και της Πορτογαλίας. Παράλληλα, είχαμε την ευκαιρία να γνωρίσουμε την καθημερινή ζωή σε ένα μικρό ισπανικό χωριό, να έρθουμε σε επαφή με την τοπική κοινότητα και να γνωρίσουμε καλύτερα τον πολιτισμό και τον τρόπο ζωής της περιοχής.
Συμμετείχαμε μαζί με νέους και νέες από έξι χώρες — την Κύπρο, την Ελλάδα, την Πολωνία, την Ιταλία, τη Γαλλία και την Ισπανία — δημιουργώντας ένα πραγματικά πολυπολιτισμικό περιβάλλον. Η κυπριακή ομάδα αποτελούνταν από πέντε άτομα, τα οποία γνωρίστηκαν για πρώτη φορά στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος. Παρ’ όλα αυτά, δεθήκαμε πολύ γρήγορα, αναπτύσσοντας σχέσεις εμπιστοσύνης και ουσιαστικές φιλίες, όχι μόνο μεταξύ μας αλλά και με τους συμμετέχοντες από τις υπόλοιπες χώρες.
Μέσα από διαδραστικά εργαστήρια, ομαδικές δραστηριότητες και βιωματικές συνεδρίες με επίκεντρο τη βιωσιμότητα, εξερευνήσαμε καθημερινές πρακτικές που επηρεάζουν τη ζωή μας και συζητήσαμε τρόπους με τους οποίους μπορούν να βελτιωθούν, ένα βήμα τη φορά. Το youth exchange μας ενθάρρυνε να υιοθετήσουμε έναν πιο θετικό, δημιουργικό και βιώσιμο τρόπο σκέψης, καλλιεργώντας παράλληλα τον πειραματισμό, την κριτική σκέψη και τη συνεργασία.
Αυτή η εμπειρία Erasmus+ στη La Zarza de Pumareda ήταν πραγματικά αξέχαστη, γεμάτη ουσιαστικές γνωριμίες, δημιουργικότητα και φιλίες που θα μας συνοδεύουν για πολύ καιρό.
