Digital Horizons | 03 – 07 December 2024 | Kornos, Cyprus | Training Course

In December 2024, the picturesque Kornos Village in Cyprus became the center of a groundbreaking initiative—Digital Horizons: Empowering Youth Workers for the Future. This international project united youth workers from Cyprus, Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Romania, and Poland with the aim of revolutionizing the way digital tools are used in youth work, fostering inclusion, and embracing innovation.

The program was designed to equip participants with essential digital skills, promote sustainable practices, and inspire creativity. Through a dynamic mix of non-formal education, hands-on training, and cultural exchange, participants gained the confidence and tools to integrate cutting-edge digital technologies into their work with young people.

Empowering Through Innovation

Workshops introduced participants to versatile platforms such as Canva, Kahoot, and Padlet, fostering creativity and engagement. They explored video editing using tools like Capcut and Inshot, and delved into AI’s transformative role in education. Interactive sessions highlighted the use of digital badges through the Cities of Learning platform, enabling youth workers to design impactful learning paths and showcase achievements.

The program also emphasized sustainability, with participants learning to calculate and offset their carbon footprints using Erasmus+ tools. Eco-tips were shared, ensuring the event left a positive environmental legacy.

Inclusion and Cultural Exchange

A hallmark of Digital Horizons was its commitment to inclusivity. The project provided opportunities for participants from disadvantaged backgrounds, including migrants and refugees, to access digital resources and connect with peers across Europe. Intercultural nights showcased the diversity of traditions, strengthening bonds and fostering mutual respect.

The Impact

The impact of Digital Horizons extended far beyond the training sessions. Participants left empowered with actionable knowledge to enhance their work, inspire young people, and address social challenges using digital innovation. The project fostered a network of youth workers committed to lifelong learning, collaboration, and promoting European values.

From the dynamic workshops to the unforgettable cultural exchanges, Digital Horizons proved to be more than a training program—it was a transformative journey, redefining what youth work can achieve in the digital age.
