The Train (in) Course project addressed the issue of rural depopulation through artistic co-creation and Forum Theatre. This Erasmus+ training brought together 18 youth workers from various parts of Europe in Cirat, Spain, where they exchanged personal stories and explored shared challenges faced in both rural and urban environments, such as social isolation and lack of opportunities.
Participants engaged with the local community through ethnographic research and collaboratively developed a Forum Theatre performance, which was staged in several nearby towns. These towns were connected by a local tourist train, helping to foster community involvement and dialogue.
The project utilized body expression, Biodanza, Theatre of the Oppressed, improvisation, and storytelling as key methodologies. These creative approaches equipped youth workers with practical tools and artistic techniques that they could later implement in their own communities to promote inclusion, expression, and active citizenship.

Κατά τη διάρκεια του 9ήμερου προγράμματος Erasmus, ένιωσα βαθιά ικανοποίηση και ευγνωμοσύνη για την εμπειρία που έζησα. Είχα την ευκαιρία να εξερευνήσω και να εκφραστώ μέσα από τον αυτοσχεδιασμό και τη σωματική έκφραση, ανακαλύπτοντας νέες πτυχές του εαυτού μου και ενισχύοντας τη δημιουργικότητά μου. Παράλληλα, γνώρισα υπέροχους ανθρώπους από 9 διαφορετικές χώρες, με τους οποίους μοιραστήκαμε εμπειρίες, συναισθήματα και πολιτισμούς, χτίζοντας γέφυρες επικοινωνίας πέρα από τα σύνορα. Η τέχνη του θεάτρου αποτέλεσε βασικό πυρήνα της διαδικασίας, καθώς μας έδωσε τη δυνατότητα να εκφράσουμε αλήθειες, να αφηγηθούμε ιστορίες και να πειραματιστούμε με νέες μορφές έκφρασης. Ένα ιδιαίτερα ξεχωριστό κομμάτι της εμπειρίας ήταν ότι παρουσιάσαμε σε τέσσερα διαφορετικά χωριά στην περιοχή Cirat της Βαλένθια, μεταφέροντας όσα δημιουργήσαμε στις τοπικές κοινότητες και βιώνοντας την άμεση επαφή με το κοινό. Το ασφαλές και ελεύθερο περιβάλλον που δημιουργήθηκε, μου επέτρεψε να επικοινωνήσω πέρα από τις λέξεις και να μάθω μέσα από την εμπειρία, τη συνεργασία και την κίνηση. Ήταν μια αξέχαστη εμπειρία που θα κρατήσω μέσα μου για πολύ καιρό.
During the 9-day Erasmus program, I felt deep satisfaction and gratitude for the experience I had. I had the opportunity to explore and express myself through improvisation and body expression, discovering new aspects of myself and enhancing my creativity. At the same time, I met wonderful people from 9 different countries, with whom we shared experiences, emotions, and cultures, building bridges of communication beyond borders. The art of theatre was a central part of the process, as it gave us the opportunity to express truths, tell stories, and experiment with new forms of expression. A particularly special part of the experience was that we performed in four different villages in the Cirat area of Valencia, sharing what we created with local communities and experiencing direct contact with the audience. The safe and open environment that was created allowed me to communicate beyond words and to learn through experience, collaboration, and movement. It was an unforgettable experience that I will carry with me for a long time.
