30/6-09/7/2017

Göteborg, Sweden

Training Course

‘Democracy 2.0: think Europe, act local’ has been a Training Course founded by the Erasmus+ agenda. Hosted by the NGO ‘Opportunity Sweeden’ in the city of Gothenburg in Sweeden the project brought together 26 individuals from 7 different countries (Cyprus, UK, Sweeden,  Estonia, Italy, Hungagy, Greece) for 10 fully creative, constructive and fun days between 30/6/2017- 9/7/2017.

The aim of the  training course was  to develop participants’ skills to address issues related to democratic values and processes, as well as foster youth worker skills to support young people’s abilities to take part in the democratic life at local level.

Throught debating practices and argumentation techiques from the ‘Non- Formal Education’ toolbox, we were enabled to touch upon serious issues on Democracy and further on raise awareness about the importance of active participation of young adults, the  ability to form our own opinion on societal and democraticy topics and make sure that we are better equipped in the democratic decision-making processes.

At the same time, the project hosted in the beautiful city of Gothenburg in Sweeden gave us an exceptional opportunity to meet part of the country and its vibe, interact with the locals and also have an intercultural exchange of ideas with all the members of our project group. Overall, creating a very dynamic and heartwarming bond with all the members of our team this training course in Gothenburg has been an incredible experience and offered us certainly some of the greatest memories in our travelling and learning diaries.
