This program is designed to empower youth workers and educators with the skills to organize impactful gender equality activities through peer education.

About the project:

Moreover, we offer youth workers and teachers the opportunity to personally experience the programs we offer and learn about different working practices in peer-to-peer education. Every year, we organize both Thematic Awareness Trainings (to familiarize with our methodologies) and Train-the-Trainer activities (to develop facilitation skills) on the topics covered by our programs. We aim for participants to use the skills they have acquired locally, in the communities where they usually work, and to report on their achievements and the challenges they have encountered.

Objectives:

• Equip youth workers and teachers with the skills to organize gender equality activities through peer education.

• Foster personal and professional commitment to taking social action on gender equality after the training.

• Enhance facilitation skills through Annual Thematic Awareness Trainings and Train-the-Trainer activities, while fostering networking and collaboration among participants from diverse countries and backgrounds.

• Strengthen participants’ ability to design, facilitate, and organize impactful educational activities and projects on gender equality in their local environments.

• Promote Non-Formal Learning and Inclusion in participants’ work and communities.

• Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment that values and embraces diverse perspectives.

Location:

Băile Govora is a charming SPA town and resort located in Vâlcea County, Romania, renowned for its therapeutic mineral waters and tranquil surroundings. Nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests, the town offers a serene escape for visitors seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. The town is also known for its peaceful atmosphere, clean air, and wellmaintained parks. Architecturally, Băile Govora boasts a blend of neo Romanian and Art Nouveau styles, reflecting its development during Romania’s Belle Époque period.

Food & Accommodation:

• Vila Crizantema, a charming 3-star hotel situated near the town center, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery
• Participants will be hosted in rooms of 2 people, according to the same gender
• Participants will be provided with 3 meals/day from the restaurant

Profile of participants:

• Each group will consist of 4 participants/youth workers aged 18+
• Eligible to participate in this project are only Cypriots and/or Cypriot residents
• Food & accommodation are fully covered by the project
